EJ Fry is an acupuncturist who I have known for many years. I have experienced the impact of his medicine; I value and wanted to share the depth of his listening and discernment. We discuss acupuncture as well as the ways in which deep listening and quieting the mind aids in healing and peace when we trust whatever life brings us as it unfolds.EJ is a  licensed acupuncturist currently practicing in Oakland, California, focusing on the treatment of pain (especially migraine headaches), digestive issues, and emotional/spiritual issues. He holds a Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science in New York, and am nationally certified as a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). His commitment to giving patients the best possible care led him to continue his studies in China with Dr. Wang Juyi and Dr. Yun Ku at Fuxing Hospital in Beijing. He also went to China to study medicine as it's practiced in Daoist temples, specifically Jian Fu Gong in Sichuan province. He has been ordained a 23rd-generation Daoist priest in the Longmen lineage of Quanzhen. In addition to his dedication to classical Chinese needling skills, he is particularly passionate about herbal medicine, and he makes it a top priority in treatments. He is currently teaching this subject to grad school students at ACCHS in Oakland. ​ His lifelong enthusiasm about Chinese cultural and religious studies rounds out his dedication to China’s medical traditions. His focus on Daoism (especially qigong), Chan (Zen) Buddhism, and Wuxing (Five Phase theory) is utilized in his treatments. As a devoted practitioner of Buddhist meditation in the Zen lineage, he brings practice of mindfulness to acupuncture treatments, and encourage it as an adjunct therapy along with acupuncture and herbs.For more information on EJ Fry please visit www.EJFry.com

Andriana says that the more you awaken your senses through sound, breath, and movement, the more conscious you become to your body, needs, and desires. This presence, in and of itself, can heal physical and mental ailments; it relaxes the body’s nervous system, returning it to a state of balance. With more oxygen and blood flow, more of the brain comes online, leading to new awareness and “feel good” feelings.
Adriana says that "there's a place beyond constant stress, worry and overwhelms. A place beyond pain and discouragement. Where relaxation and solutions exist. Where physical regeneration and creativity flow. Here, life is vibrant and alive. Here, you are FREE. This place exists inside of you, ready to receive your attention. Don’t believe it? Neither did I." She spent years searching outside hersleff for “fixes” to GI problems and emotional swings. From medication to diets to spiritual practices, she tried the gamut of tools to find balance.By “balance,” she means a place where I felt like an active participant in her life instead of a victim to emotions, physical ailments, and outside circumstance.
