During our talk, he takes the listener along on a particular journey, as he describes some of the events he has lived through in the past year. He begins by describing the experience of what he thought was a panic attack. This led him to be hospitalized and later diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Forty days after his diagnosis, after two rounds of chemotherapy, his cancer went into remission. Cooper interprets his experience as something he calls “initiation.” This means: the process by which one receives a lesson and a gift. Later that year, he experienced the unthinkable: the loss of his 23-year-old son. In a poignant conversation about loss and the power of not loosing trust, Cooper takes us on a soulful and enlightening journey of possibility.

In her 20s she made art by making friends, taking pictures, transforming dumpstered treasure into installations and she fell in love with how creativity bridges and redeems. In her 30s she built a healing toolkit. She dove into yoga, studied permaculture at intentional communities, bike-toured with costumed crews bringing serendipitous service, and moved back to her hometown to explore restorative practices and race work with her family. She got curious about abolition and built a permaculture garden with formerly incarcerated folks. Then she ran a small donation-based yoga studio, taught art at a local juvenile detention center, and discovered community singing – her heart’s calling! She catches and carries songs that nourish our soul journeys and holds circle spaces that support us to decompose anything that gets in the way of love.

She did everything she thought would bring happiness: publish my book, get tenured, climb the never-ending social ladder. But over the years, her body started to have problems from not following my heart. While trying various methods to heal herself, she had a serendipitous encounter with Craniosacral Therapy. With one small adjustment in her throat, she experienced an emotional release and a sense of wholeness. She felt like she had returned to my true self. Since that magical day, she has been following the path. The paradigm of craniosacral is: Your body already possess the knowledge and wisdom of how to best heal itself.
